My New Calling Is........What!!!

Last Sunday I was giving a new calling......primary teacher of the 5 and 6 year olds! So I came home a little disappointed but I got out the manual and started preparing the lesson. I thought what fun this might be. It has been a while since I had been in Primary. The lesson was a fun one to prepare for and I got there early on my first Sunday teaching and set up in the wrong room, so I had to take down all my stuff and move to another room....but let me tell you I have the best class with the best little ones, thank goodness! Sharing time was another story though....I guess I have to get use to all the noise again! I found this quote that says it all:

" What did the Master spend His life doing? He was just a teacher, teaching human souls, inspiring them to live righteously. There is no higher calling than that. Whether it be done in the mission field or here at home with a group in a Primary class, they are all eternal souls that we work with." President Ezra Taft Benson

So I'll go to Primary and teach with all that I have in me...for the children and I'll learn alot in this calling as well!! And I'm not disappointed any more!!!

So, Tom and I have been in primary for the past 4 1/2 years (even though we have lived in three different wards!) and I am now really starting to appreciate serving with the children. Yes, it has taken me a while, and to be honest, most of the time I am just trying to get the kids to stop touching each other and stay in their seats. But there are sweet moments where the spirit is so strong with those sweet children.

So, I hope things will go well with your children in your CTR class! We teach the 4/5 year olds, which is always entertaining. And can I just say that your grand-daughter is absolutely beautiful? To me, she resembles Brad a lot in the face. But they are changing all the time, so we'll see what she looks like next month!

Hey Mama! I had the calling to teach the 11-12 yr olds for over a yr in 06-07 and thought that it would be comparable to nails on a chalkboard. Remarkably though I ended up learning so many precious lessons from teaching the kiddies the "basics" of the Gospel. It really enriched my life and I, only hope, that it did the same for all my little ones. I have all the faith in the world that you can do it! Love yoU!
